A New Thing

For I am about to do something new.  See, I have already begun!  Do you not see it?  I will make a pathway through the wilderness.  I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.  Isaiah 43:19 (NLT)

Our Father wants to do a new thing in our lives, but He can’t if we continue to be stuck in our past.  We can allow discouragement and past failures keep us down.  We keep replaying our past mistakes in our minds even though we have asked for forgiveness and God has forgiven us.  He said as far as the east is from the west, this is how far He has removed our sins from us.  If God can make dry land in the Red Sea, can He not make a road in the wilderness or rivers in a desert?  We may think our life is over, but God says no.  Look at Moses.  He had status in Egypt by being a son of  Pharaoh’s daughter.  Yet he made one great mistake by killing a Egyptian who was beating on a Hebrew slave.  He tried to hide it, but even his own people told on him.  He lost everything.  He became a shepherd in Midian and wandered in the wilderness  for 40 years, but God was positioning him for his calling.  God is positioning us.  He is not through with us.

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6

  1. You are so right! Paul is another good example of someone who had a horrible past to forget and look how God used him! Whenever the devil tries to put my past in my face, i remember that God has forgiven me and i look forward to what He has in store for my future!

    • Yes Paul started out with a bad past. He wrote forgetting those things behind me and I press toward the mark. He had to stop looking in the rear view mirror if his life and keep his eyes focus on what was in front of him. Thank you Gloria for commenting. Be blessed

  2. Amen!! Change is not something we humans like! We like our comfortable lives, our comfortable jobs, and most of all our idea that things are secure in our lives. As a child of God our lives can change at a minutes notice and we must do what God expects of us and that is to Obey.

  3. Though we have been forgiven, it seems nearly impossible to not dwell on our past. Putting the past behind me and accepting forgiveness has allowed me to know the actual feeling of peace.
