What’s on Your Record?

Romans 14:11 (KJV)

11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

Revelation 20:12 (KJV)

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Since day one someone have been keeping a record on us.  Records such as birth record, immunization record, school record, baptism record, and a death record.  What will be on your record when the books are opened before God.  Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess to God, the deeds done in this mortal body.  What will be your confession:

  • I believed in Jesus Christ
  • I feed the hungry
  • I gave to the poor
  • I was baptist
  • I am Saved

Those will be statements that someone will say….will it be you?  It’s time to rethink your plan of salvation the time is now, Jesus Christ is soon to return.  It will be a sad day if Jesus Christ say depart from me I knew you not.

Matthew 7:21-23 (KJV)

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

My Expectation

5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. 6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. 7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. 8 Trust in him at all times ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah Psalms 62:5-8

Patience is definitely a virtue to possess when you are waiting on God to move in situations that seem to come upon you relentlessly. David writes in this Psalms that he waits silently in hope upon God for he knows that he is his rock and his deliverer. Is that were the description of being the “strong and silent” type comes from?

Being able to wait is saying that we have the hope and confidence that the situation will be worked out in God’s time. While we are waiting, let us pour out our heart before him so we don’t take matters into our own hands, but we allow God the space to work it out. Wait…

Fear not!

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God; I will strengthened thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Isaiah 41:10

Fear is a great tool that our adversary, the Devil, uses against us. Fear comes in so many forms: we fear in our decision making, we fear in how we look or intelligence, we fear we are too introverted or extroverted, and we fear the unknown. What fear does to us it will cause us to shut down mentally and physically. Fear will paralyzed us and will lead us to believe we are in this by ourselves.

God is saying to us today to not fear and to not become discouraged for he is with us. He is our God. He is a God that never changes and he is same yesterday, today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8) He is not like us because we change with every wind that blows upon us.

He will help us and he’s holding us even in the midst of our struggles and even in the midst of our fears with his right hand (his power and favor) of his righteousness. God is right here with us and he will help us. Fear not!

God loves Us

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not his Son to condemn the world;  but that the world through him might be saved.”  John 3:16-17

Do we really know how much God loves us? Can we even imagined that a God could love us because we are so messed up, so wrong, and so imperfect? Even the angels had to inquire of God “what is man, that thou are mindful of him?” (Psalms 8:4)

God is mindful of us because he loves all of us. He loves every nationality, every gender, everyone in this world; all of us in our sinful and imperfect state. He has put his stamp on us when he created us in his image. Then to show us how much he loves us, he sent his only Son to earth in human form to redeem us back to him, our Father. His Son, Jesus Christ, came not to condemn us and to beat us over the head because of our wrongdoing, but to give us a better way and a better life; an everlasting life through him.

His Son, Jesus, came and paid the penalty for our sins by the shedding of his blood on the Cross. The penalty he paid, we could not afford it. Do you know of anyone who would lay down their life for you so that you would have a better life now and eternally? God gave his Son and his Son gave his life. Why? Because he loves us with an everlasting love.

Have A Caleb Spirit

But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.  Numbers 14:24

Caleb and Joshua were the only two out of twelve spies who came back with a good report of the Canaan. They saw giants just like the others, but they believed what God had said that this was their land and they could do in and possess it. God called Caleb his servant and that he had another spirit meaning he had a different attitude. He had an attitude that he believed what God had promised and was ready to pursue it.

What kind of spirit do you have? Is your spirit like the ten spies who did not believe that God would give them the land? All they could see was the obstacles that they had to face. When something is difficult, it’s so much easier to take down. The ten spies complained about the giants in how tall they were and how the buildings were tall and fortified. It was easy to think of all the negative. But Caleb had a different attitude. He was with them and saw the same things, but he came back with a different mindset. He believed that they could take the land because God was with them. What are you facing today? Is it sickness, family problems, unemployment, or even financial problems? Have a Caleb spirit. Believed that God is with you and He will help you conqueror whatever problem you’re facing. He has already made the way, but he’s waiting on you to walk through it. Just think. The Israelites were at the brink of possessing their land, but they could not believe that God was with them. God had been with them all the time from Egypt up till now. God has been with you all the time.

Waiting on God

Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.  Psalms 62:1-2

Just like a child that go through growth spurts, the godly will go through them also.  Growth spurts are not always a comfortable feeling and may cause us extreme pain.  When adversity come in our lives, it helps us to grow in our confidence in the Lord.  The solution that will help ease the pain is by patiently waiting on our God for our deliverance.  Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. (Psalms 30:5)

Where is your treasure

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.  Matthew 6:21

What possessions in this life do we hold close to our heart?  Is it our house or maybe our car?  Or maybe its some jewelry or even money?  The worldly things of this life will not last forever because it will rust, mold or stolen from us.  These tangible things that we treasure, we cannot take with us when we die.  There was a story told that a man died and when he got to heaven’s gate, the angel questioned him as to why he was carrying a bag with him.  The man pull out of his bag a gold bar thinking he would impress the angel.  But the angel shook his head asking why would he bring pavement with him. That is why we have set our affections on things that are above, and not on things of this earth. (Colossians 3:5)  The treasures that we should hold close to our heart is a life in Christ.  We store up our treasures by living a godly life,  by applying the Word of God to our lives and having intimate communication with God with our prayers.  Then our treasures will last for eternity.
