God is worthy

Come, let us go and take time out to worship our Father.  It is God that woke us up today and we could not had done it on our own.  It is God that kept us while we slept and did not allow fire to engulf us or a thief to break in.  Let us break out with shouts of thanksgiving and rejoice in what He has done for us.  Let us sing praises of His goodness that He has bestowed on us each and every day.  Let us thank Him for the privilege and the freedom to be able to go and worship Him at our various churches.

O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.  Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.  For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.  In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.   The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.  O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.   Psalms 95:1-6

God’s Word for Today

My praise and my confidence is in God always!

Praise the LORD! Let all that I am praise the LORD.

I will praise the LORD as long as I live. I will sing praises to my God with my dying breath.

Don’t put your confidence in powerful people; there is no help for you there.

When they breathe their last, they return to the earth, and all their plans die with them.

But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is in the LORD their God.

He made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He keeps every promise forever.

He gives justice to the oppressed and food to the hungry. The LORD frees the prisoners.

The LORD opens the eyes of the blind. The LORD lifts up those who are weighed down. The LORD loves the godly.

The LORD protects the foreigners among us. He cares for the orphans and widows, but he frustrates the plans of the wicked.

The LORD will reign forever. He will be your God, O Jerusalem, throughout the generations. Praise the LORD! (Psalms 146, NLT)

God’s Peace

Storms will come in our lives, but Jesus has left us with a gift.  The Comforter which is the Holy Spirit.  The Spirit of God will lead us and guide us in all ways of truth if we allow Him to.  Surrender to God’s peace and allow Him to rule our hearts.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  John 14:27

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:7

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.  Colossians 3:15

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.  Isaiah 26:3

A Good Soldier

Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.    2 Timothy 2:4-5

A soldier has to be strong and courageous.

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Joshua 1:9

A soldier is willing to fight for the cause and willing to lay down their life for it.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7

A soldier has to stay focus in battle and not allow themselves to become distracted.

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.  Matthew 16:24

A soldier has discipline and is willing to follow his leader wherever he may go.

And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.  Matthew 8:20

God has chosen you to be in his army.

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will.   Ephesians 1:4-5

We are soldiers,  in the army

We have to fight,  although we  have to cry

We have to hold up the Blood Stained Banner

We have to hold it up until we die.

Who shall abide

LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?  He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.  He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.  In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD.  He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.   He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.  Psalms 15

Lord create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me so I might dwell in your tabernacle forever.
