Just commit

Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.   And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. — Psalms 37:5-6

The word commit (galal) in Hebrew means to roll.  To roll also means to trust.  God wants us to line up  every thought and our every way unto him.  Yes, it might look like the wicked is getting away with everything and they are prospering.  But if we keep ourselves in line with the word of God, he said he will bring it to pass.  We are to do good, and not allow our flesh to act out.  The word tells us to stop being angry and turn from our rage.  We cannot fret (worry) about how wrong things are in our world, but we are to wait patiently on God and he will take care of it.  How do we stop worrying, by delighting ourselves in him.  He lets us know when we do this by aligning our will to his, he will give us the desires of our heart.

Affirmations of God’s Word

Affirmations of God’s Word

God loves us:
The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. Jeremiah 31:3

God has good thoughts of us:
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11

God wants to give us peace:
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27

God wants to fight our battles:
And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s. 2 Chronicles 20:15

God wants to be first in our lives:
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33

Sold Out

Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. — Mark 10:21

A young man ran up to Jesus asking what must he do to inherit eternal life.  Jesus asked him did he know the commandments which he replied that he had followed them from his youth.  Jesus said to him that he fell short of one thing and that was to sell all he had and give to the poor.  This man became very sad because he had much and could not give it up.  My question is what are holding on to?  Have you sold out everything to follow the Lord?

We can hold onto things in our lives so tightly and lose out.  There are some areas  in our lives that we don’t want to let go of.  We have been hurt by people who have caused us some great emotional pain. We have allowed this hurt to turn in to unforgiveness, bitterness, anger, hatred, or even envy.  How can we pick up our crosses with these weights on us?  The word says be either hot or cold, but if you are lukewarm he will spit you out of his mouth. (Rev. 3:16)  So now its time to approach the throne of God and asked him to help us in letting go of these negatives emotions in our lives so we are free to work for the Lord for his coming is soon.  Let us take this time to examine ourselves.  We don’t want anything to separate us from the love of God.

How do we become sold out?

We have an eagerness to know him.  As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.  Psalms 42:1

We deny ourselves.  And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.  Luke 9:23

Focus on God.  I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

Obedience.  Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.  Deuteronomy 13:4

Keep on

Rejoice everymore.  Pray without ceasing.  In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. — 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Don’t stop rejoicing.  Don’t stop praying.  In every circumstances that we face in our lives, we know that this is not by chance or by fate, but it is the will of God.   We rejoice not because of our problems, but that God is in control of every situation that we are facing.  We can’t allow ourselves to shut down and give up on God because we will cut off our communications with him.  We keep our communications open by rejoicing and praying to him.  Don’t stop your change is coming!

Solid foundation

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not:  for it was founded upon a rock.  And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.  — Matthew 7:24-27

What type of foundation are you building your spiritual house on?   Is it on a rock or is it on sand?   When we hear the Word of God and do not apply it to our lives, we are like the foolish man because our foundation is sand.  We can attend church hear the Word, worship God in song and praise, and walk out the door each Sunday or Bible study night agreeing that was a great Word we heard.  But if we do not apply the Word of God to our lives, what we did was in vain.  We must apply the Word to our lives and live it daily.  “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”   James 1:22

Be like the wise man who founded his house upon the rock so when the rains, and the floods, and the winds begin to beat  upon our house, testings and trials, we are able to stand against it because we have built our house upon a solid foundation.

On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand, all other ground is seeking sand.
