Bombarding Heaven

I have not been able to write as often as I like to.  But it is not because bad things are happening.  It is because of good things.  We had prayer at our church for the past six weeks, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m, 12 noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.  In this prayer, our Pastor had asked that we use scriptures of thanksgivings, praise, worship, healing, and prayers.  In just this short span of time, people were  blessed tremendously spiritually and naturally with healing of the body, soul, and mind. There were families coming together at the altar to surrender their lives to God.  Those who had become down and discouraged, receive renewed energy.  The mind-boggling thing about it, we were not there for hours.  Just committing ourselves to pray for 30 minutes, God moved!  There is such a sweet spirit in the midst of our congregation.

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.  Ephesians 3:20-21

God is able

And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.  And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.  Mark 10:46-47

What are you in need of ?   Do you need healing for you body, or healing in relationships, or healing for your life?  Whatever you need, God is able.  This blind man show faith by continuing to call on Jesus for his healing.  He hollered out to God so loudly and continually that the people were telling him to be quiet.  Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)  Don’t stop seeking God for what you need.  We are too quick to quit and become despondent when it does not happened when we think it should.  When you read your Word, you will see that Jesus did not always respond right away to them seeking help.  He waited to see how they would act when he did not respond right away.  Don’t stop praying, but look with great expectations to receive it!

The Church of Ephesus

Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.  Revelations 2:4

This message is coming from “One who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands.”

The Ephesus church was a great church. It was a church that was full of energy, enthusiasm and purpose. Jesus tells them that he knows their works. He saw their labor and their endurance.  He saw how they did not tolerate evil and examined the claims of those who say they are apostles, and how they lied.  He saw how they had suffered for Him and did not give up.

BUT He has a complaint against the Ephesus Church.  They have lost their first love which was  Him. When they first accepted Christ, they are excited and had a great love for Him. They are excited about being a new believer.

Do you remember when you  first accepted the Lord in your life and how excited you were about Him. You would  take the time out to learn everything you could about Him. The world looked so differently. The world became brighter and colorful when before it was dark and full of gloom. Because you been washed in the Blood of Jesus Christ and your sins were forgiven, the weight that was on your shoulders is no longer there.

You looked forward each day and night to this new communion with God and He was in your thought every minute of the day.  When you thought of Him, it brought a smile to your face and a lift in your walk.  You could not wait to assemble yourself with other believers and fellowship with them in praying, singing songs glorifying Him and hearing the Word of God coming alive in your mind and heart as it’s preached to you.

Just like the church of Ephesus, your love for Christ has become cold, and it’s no longer joyful. The relationship you have with God has become stale and now you are just going through the motions.  You honored him with your mouth, but your heart is far from him. (Matthew 15:8) Just as your love has cooled for Christ, it has cooled to your brothers and sisters.

Jesus message to the Ephesus Church was for them to look and see how far they have fallen and to repent and do their first work all over again. If they do not repent quickly, He will remove their candlestick.  God will remove His presence from them. If they are obedient and do as He says their reward is eternal life.

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

He Is

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?  When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.  Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.  Psalms 27:1-3

God is my deliverer and He lights up my world when I am in darkness.  There is no need for me to fear because in Him I find refuge.  When adversity comes against me God will make a way of escape for me.  Even when an army (relationship problems, financial difficulties, sickness, rejection, depression, marital problems, wayward children) shall try to come against me, I will not fear because my confidence is not what I can do, but what God can and will do!
