Forgetting the past

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. — Philippians 3:13-14

There was a time in my life that I became stuck on my past.  I kept going through my pages of  history looking at where I had made my mistakes and kept thinking of what I could have changed, how I have made better choices and maybe I would have been much further in my life.  I kept going over and over these areas in my life that it was making me more frustrated.  The Lord brought it to my attention that he was not pleased with what I was doing because I became stuck in my past.  He let me know because I have repented of the mistakes I made and he has forgiven me and that I needed to forgive myself.  I could not go forward if  I kept going backwards.  Now I learned to let go of those things in my past, because now I am pressing towards that heavenly prize.

  1. We cannot serve Him fully unless we let go of things past. There is great joy when we allow Him to move in our lives freely. Praise the Lord oh my soul.
