What’s on Your Record?

Romans 14:11 (KJV)

11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

Revelation 20:12 (KJV)

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Since day one someone have been keeping a record on us.  Records such as birth record, immunization record, school record, baptism record, and a death record.  What will be on your record when the books are opened before God.  Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess to God, the deeds done in this mortal body.  What will be your confession:

  • I believed in Jesus Christ
  • I feed the hungry
  • I gave to the poor
  • I was baptist
  • I am Saved

Those will be statements that someone will say….will it be you?  It’s time to rethink your plan of salvation the time is now, Jesus Christ is soon to return.  It will be a sad day if Jesus Christ say depart from me I knew you not.

Matthew 7:21-23 (KJV)

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Count it all joy

“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; knowing this that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” James 1:2-4

Everywhere you go there is trouble. Everywhere you go there is strife. Everywhere you go there is something that worries you are the words of a song written by Walter Hawkins that we all can relate to. These are times that try our very hearts which can caused us to have wavering faith and a despondent relationship with God.

The trials that we faced can either make us or break us in our relationship with God. We can become angry or disappointed with God that we don’t take that time to read his word, fast and pray or worship him like we use to. When the pressure is on us we will respond in hostility and opposition not only with God but also to other people.

The Apostle James has a remedy for this situation and that is TO COUNT IT ALL JOY!

Trials are a tool that can make us.  1 Peter 4:12 tells us to think it not strange concerning fiery trials which is to try you as though some strange thing happened to you. The trying of our faith helps strengthen our faith in God. It also brings out patience, when we allow it to have its complete work in us, we mature in our faith.

We are to count it as joy because we are not suffering because its the thing to do, but we are suffering so that God can get the glory out of our lives. We can go through the fire and come out as pure gold.

The Time is Now

Seek the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near.  Isaiah 55:6

When we have lost or misplaced something that is important to us, we will stop whatever we are doing to find it.  It may take hours and sometimes even days before we find it.  Is not seeking God just as important?  We should seek Him with everything that is within us while he can be found.  If you do not have a personal relationship with God, now is the time to seek Him.  Don’t wait because the scripture even says “while He can be found” and “while He is near” because He is giving us time to turn our life around.  There will be a time He will no longer become accessible to them who have not repented.  Today He is our Savior, but the time is coming He will be our righteous judge.

And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.  Revelations 22:12
