God Is Good

Proverbs 3:5-7 (KJV)

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

We have a Father that loves us unconditional.  Let’s put our trust in Him and watch the miracles happen.

All things

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. — Romans 8:28

The story of Joseph is a great lesson to any one who reads it.  Here we have a young man who was sold off into slavery by his own brothers.  He was the second youngest of twelve children. His father, Jacob, loved his mother dearly. She died after giving birth to their child, Benjamin. Joseph was his father’s favorite and Jacob showed it by giving him a coat made of  many colors.  Joseph brothers hated him because of this.  One day his father asked him to go and check on his brothers. When they saw Joseph coming, they conspired together to kill him. So they strip him of his coat and threw him into a deep and empty pit. One of the brothers talked them out of killing him,  and they agreed to selling him to a passing caravan for twenty pieces of silver.  So Joseph starts a new life in Egypt.  In the beginning life seem to be fine, then all of a sudden things begin to change quickly, but not for Joseph’s good or was it?  Yet God had a purpose in his life.

Just when we think all is well in our lives, all of a sudden things changed quickly and it does not look good.  It seems when trouble comes, it comes in threes.  News come that a dear friend received a bad health report and it’s cancer.  There maybe marriage difficulties, but who does not have them, then the news come that the spouse wants a divorce.  Then there’s a phone call, your daughter been picked up by the police for drinking. Or maybe the check for the rent has bounced, and another unexpected bill come in the mail and of course, the funds are not there.  Then another phone call regarding your son totaling out your car, and he walked away without a scratch.  Trouble will come to all of our doors.  We may not always understand the purpose of it, but we continue to trust God and know that he loves us.  He is aware of every detail, and he knows how to turn the things in our lives that are meant for evil and work them out for our good.

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?  (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”)  No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. — Romans 8:35-37 (NLT)
