114 Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.
I remember playing a game called hide and seek. Where you had to hid from the person that was counting and when they were finished, ready or not here they come. Well, that was in the natural. Let’s look at it from a spiritual perspective. Jesus Christ is responsible for us. So that makes him qualified to be our hiding place and our shield. He will covers us when the storms of life are raging. We are protected under His loving care. Make sure you study your Word, because in The Word is hope and everlasting life.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:16-17
Do we really know how much God loves us? Can we even imagined that a God could love us because we are so messed up, so wrong, and so imperfect? Even the angels had to inquire of God “what is man, that thou are mindful of him?” (Psalms 8:4)
God is mindful of us because he loves all of us. He loves every nationality, every gender, everyone in this world; all of us in our sinful and imperfect state. He has put his stamp on us when he created us in his image. Then to show us how much he loves us, he sent his only Son to earth in human form to redeem us back to him, our Father. His Son, Jesus Christ, came not to condemn us and to beat us over the head because of our wrongdoing, but to give us a better way and a better life; an everlasting life through him.
His Son, Jesus, came and paid the penalty for our sins by the shedding of his blood on the Cross. The penalty he paid, we could not afford it. Do you know of anyone who would lay down their life for you so that you would have a better life now and eternally? God gave his Son and his Son gave his life. Why? Because he loves us with an everlasting love.
