God loves Us

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not his Son to condemn the world;  but that the world through him might be saved.”  John 3:16-17

Do we really know how much God loves us? Can we even imagined that a God could love us because we are so messed up, so wrong, and so imperfect? Even the angels had to inquire of God “what is man, that thou are mindful of him?” (Psalms 8:4)

God is mindful of us because he loves all of us. He loves every nationality, every gender, everyone in this world; all of us in our sinful and imperfect state. He has put his stamp on us when he created us in his image. Then to show us how much he loves us, he sent his only Son to earth in human form to redeem us back to him, our Father. His Son, Jesus Christ, came not to condemn us and to beat us over the head because of our wrongdoing, but to give us a better way and a better life; an everlasting life through him.

His Son, Jesus, came and paid the penalty for our sins by the shedding of his blood on the Cross. The penalty he paid, we could not afford it. Do you know of anyone who would lay down their life for you so that you would have a better life now and eternally? God gave his Son and his Son gave his life. Why? Because he loves us with an everlasting love.

Two paths

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. — Matthew 7:13-14

There are two paths that leads to two gates, but only one we can follow.  Which gate are you willing to open?  The one path is very large and a well-traveled road.  It’s an easy road to follow and many people choose to follow that path, but at the end of that path is death.  Not only is it a natural death, but it’s a spiritual death for eternally.  People do not want to believe that there is a hell.  Hell was not created for man, but it was originally created for the Devil and his demons.

God created The Devil, Lucifer,  to glorify him and he was a beautiful angel.  Lucifer name meant “Son of the Morning”.  Lucifer was beautiful and covered with various stones such as topaz, diamonds, sapphires, and rubies.  He also had stringed instruments in him that he played music. (Ezekiel 28:13)  God literally made him a walking instrument. Then one day he became full of himself and thought he would exalt himself to be like the most high God.  Lucifer was a powerful angel, because when God kicked out of heaven he took one-third of the angels from heaven down to earth with him.

The Bible tells us that hell enlarges itself.  How?  By those who refuses to accept the Lord in their hearts and turn from their sinful ways.  Some people may say well I’m a good person and I don’t do wrong.  I treat people respectfully, I give to the poor, and I attend church and give my offering.  They may do all of that, but if you have not repented of yours sins and accepted the Lord in your life, all the good that you do is in vain.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. — Romans 3:23-24 (NIV)

The path that leads to heaven is a one that is straight and narrow.  It is a path that is less traveled and few will find it.  Why?  Because this path requires a commitment to follow Christ.  We have to give up the ways of the world to follow him.

For everything in the world–the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does–comes not from the Father but from the world. — 1 John 2:16 (NIV)

One senior church mother who is no longer alive today, use to say, “If  I had two souls, I could lose one and save the other.”  We only have one and we must decide which path we will take.
