The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. Exodus 14:14
Moses and the Israelites were at the Red Sea and Pharoah’s army were behind them. They had nowhere to go. God had order their steps to go this route because they were not mentally prepared to fight other nations to get to the Promised Land. Even now they were very afraid and started complaining to Moses that it was better for them to be slaves of the Egyptians then to die in the wilderness. One thing they did do right is they begin to cry out to God. God allows “Red Sea” trials in our lives to teach us how to depend on Him. Too many times we want to depend on our own might and our own knowledge to fix adverse situations in our lives, but we usually make a mess of it. God wants to teach us how to obey Him and how to follow His lead. This is the time not to become fearful in adversity, but be still and see His deliverance. How do we be still, by keeping our focus on Him and holding our peace. He will fight for us. The battle is not ours, but the Lord’s.
