And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. Luke 22:31-32
Our adversary wants to stop us at every chance he gets. He wants to use our weaknesses against us to make us fail the test. He wants to sift us like how they did wheat, through a sieve. He’s trying to break us down. He wants us to give up and quit. Jesus wants us to know that when these times come, he had already prayed for us. His prayer is that our faith will stand strong during these trying times. He already knows how we feel because he was tested too.
Tests come to make us strong. We learn to rejoice in sufferings, because sufferings produce endurance; and endurance, character, and character, hope. (Romans 5:3-4 NIV) Then we are able to help those who are going through because we already been through it.
