There is work to do

Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;  Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. — Matthew 9:37-38

In the movie called the Sixth Sense there was a young boy who saw the walking dead and they could speak.  But only he could hear and see them.  He was very afraid of them because he did not know what his purpose was.  We have people everyday who are the walking dead because they do not know the Lord.  We see them on our jobs, at the stores, in our neighborhood or any where we may be.  We have no need to be afraid because God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)

There is work to be done, but the laborers are few.  When God called us into his marvelous light, he did not want us to keep this light to ourselves.  We have a purpose and that is to go out and witness to a dying world.  He has instructed us to go out to the highways and hedges and compel (constrain and persuade) them ( men, women, and children)  to come in to his house so that it may be full. (Luke 14:23)  We have a testimony to present to them of how God had delivered us from death and now we have life and we have it more abundantly.  So let us  roll up our sleeves and get to working.

  1. This really touched my heart. Thank you for being willing to share what God has given you to say. Let the light of the Lord shine out from us like beacons in the night. God Bless you and your writing.

  2. This makes me really think about how many opportunities I have had to share the good news. The times when I have and those that I have not. The only job we really have is to share the good news. And if we do not have the spirit of fear, why do we struggle so hard to share the good news? We are trained to stay and do all the right things in front of people, but fail miserably in our private lives. Acts 20: 19-21, Serving the LORD with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews: 20 And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house, 21Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
