Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. — Hebrews 12:1
I love to watch the track meets on television especially the sprints. The runners are so fast and agile. Runners have to be very disciplined. They have to eat properly, exercise, lift weights, and constantly practiced their running. It takes a lot of strength to run. So if a runner does not follow through on their workout, they become slow and weak. When we don’t follow through with our routine, we become weak. There are things in our lives we allow to become weights. Such as bitterness, uncontrollable anger, unforgiveness, hate, self-pity, feeling unloved and unwanted. When we allow these things to take control, we begin to take our eyes off of God. Let us let go of everything that will hold us down from running this race. I am pressing towards the mark with everything that I have within me because I want to make it through the finish line.
