Sowing and Reaping

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Galatians 6:9

In the book of Galatians chapter six, Paul writes about sowing and reaping.   It is so important to sow good seeds so that we can benefit a great harvest in our reaping.  Just like a farmer when he goes out and tills the soil preparing to sow his seeds, he make sure he plants plenty of seeds into the ground. Why?  Because he is expecting a great abundance when it comes time for harvest.  One thing a farmer realizes that when he plants corn seeds, he does not expect to receive beans for his harvest.  What kind of seeds are we sowing in our lives today?   So why do we think when we sow seeds of bitterness, hatred, strife, anger, unforgiveness, or envy do we expect to receive a harvest of good in return?  What we sow is what we will reap.  That’s why we are admonished not to sow seeds of our flesh.  It’s so important to sow seeds of love, joy, peace, forgiveness and compassion.  Because when we sow these spiritual seeds, we will reap them in return.  We must not get tired of doing the right things even though we may not see the results of our actions immediately.  Don’t stop and don’t give up.  Continue in what is right because in due season we shall reap abundantly!
